Twisted Together was born from the idea of creating an engagement ring for myself. Growing up in a small Siberian town in Russia, I was often asked questions like, "When are you getting married?" or "Where is your boyfriend?" At some point, I decided to create my own ring and call it my engagement ring.
This ring symbolizes my commitment—not to traditional expectations, but to my work as a jeweller. It represents my "engagement" to my craft, a nod to my workaholic nature and the deep passion I have for what I do.
In 2019, while visiting my mom in Siberia, I spent time with my best friend, who remarked that almost everyone in my family had received jewelry from me except her. When I returned to Australia, I decided to create a ring for her inspired by the "Twisted Together" design but with slight differences. The ring serves as a reminder that, no matter how far apart we are, we remain best friends—different yet deeply connected.
